It is inspirational but written in a conversational style. It is future-focused and shares concrete, realistic methods to avoid having certain negative things happen to you. Notes will also resonate with adults, especially the parents of teenagers, because it deals with issues that everyone struggles with at one time or another throughout life. The book briefly, but candidly, addresses issues of sex, the use of drugs and alcohol, and the need to position oneself with other strong individuals to help them get through life. Sex and drugs are taboo discussion for many households, but they both exist and are rampant in the teenage community.
